Kumar Sangakkara has quit the post of the Sri Lankan captian. This comes just three days after Sri Lanka's World Cup final defeat at the hands of India.
All-rounder Angelo Mathews or batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan likely to replace Sangakkara as captain. He has also announced his retirement from One Day Internationals & Twenty-20s.
Kumar Sangakkara however, who was the third highest scorer in the 2011 World Cup with 465 runs to his credit, has offered to stay for the Australia series.
